What is Shortsmith?
Shortsmith (shortsmith.kr) is a web app that turns long videos into finished YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikToks. Paste a YouTube link or upload a video, and AI watches the whole thing, suggests three story angles, then cuts the highlights, reframes to 9:16 and adds captions, an AI voice-over, a title and a thumbnail. It is run by Changup Plus in the Republic of Korea.

What it does
- YouTube link or your own video → a finished Short: highlight cuts, vertical 9:16 reframe, captions, AI voice-over, title and thumbnail.
- AI reads the whole video and the background on the web, then suggests three story angles. You pick one and check the script before rendering.
- Trending picks from YouTube’s charts (United States and Korea) — start from a video in one click.
- AI short dramas from a one-line idea: story, characters, realistic scenes, voices and subtitles.
- Connect Claude or another MCP-compatible AI app and make Shorts by chatting.
Who it’s for
- Channels that post Shorts every day from sports, podcasts, shows, lectures or game footage.
- Creators who want story-driven Shorts with narration instead of plain clips.
- Teams and agencies that run several channels (per-seat team plans).
